Bernsen, playstation 2 iso games as usual, plays the straight man who is five steps beyond unhappy at Tambors character Lloyd for hijacking him for the afternoon, while Tambor gives no indication that this is anything less than another day at the office for him.
Next week is the story weve all been waiting for: the special edition, bells-and-whistles, 100th episode. The writers also give a nod to Henrys speedy recovery from being shot at point-blank range, and watching Shawn murder the Spanish language is hilarious given that James Roday is fluent. Its all for naught, however, because after he spills his guts to Rachael and finally decides hes ready to be a dad she tells him that she hasnt let Maximus (Mateen Devji) in on the fact that Gus is anything more than the guy helping.Henry, dragged along for the ride because he offered to do Lloyd a favor, ends up being shot at, chased down, arrested, kidnapped, invited to a fiesta at gunpoint, then forced to dig his own grave.Psych the concept of these two being pulled into such a wacky adventure is stretching the boundaries of believability but it doesnt matter because the two men play off one another so well.As he and Henry meet for lunch, it turns out the father has a few secrets involving gambling, debts and more.Clue -inspired hijinks ensue. The other running theme in this story is Gus new status as a family man.
Psych has pulled out over the past few years, continuing this seasons winning streak.
Its got a lot to live up to, but given how solid this season has been so far, Im beginning to think it might actually be able to live up.
Indiana Jones than, no Country for Old Men.
Read Nick's review of the previous episode, Lassie Jerky, here.Psych is means that hes not often given much chance to stretch his comedy muscles, but his old man, Odd Couple double act with Tambor made it clear just how good he can. What sets this episode apart is that it will be the viewers who determine the end of the episode via a live vote sponsored by USA Network and Dunkin Donuts.Over the last ninety-nine episodes, Steve Franks has managed to build up a show that goes well beyond its own (for all its glory, pretty ridiculous) premise, giving us a whole raft of characters that we can genuinely enjoy spending time with.Sure, its a bit of a sidestep of the whole issue, but Im glad they didnt stretch it out longer than necessary, and I hope this means well be seeing a lot more of the wonderful Parminder Nagra in the coming weeks.Shawn is convinced that Juliets step-dad Lloyd and his dad will be the best of friends, despite the fact that Henry spends most of the party looking bored to tears by Lloyds accountant stories.Even as the voice of reason, hes got a nice comic timing, and the thought of Henry rocking the Cabbage Patch in a Mexican drug lords private disco would have made for a great Psych Out.Little does he know that the lunch date he sets them up on will send them all on a wild ride down to Mexico.Perhaps that was why it was so nice to see Henry get some attention, and to have Gus relationship working out for once DIY skills notwithstanding: we got to spend some time with the rest of the gang.
